Post by KellyWell I never thought I was going to get to see them live. My first
show was the infamous HFStival where they got pissed or bored and
walked off after a few songs in the afternoon heat in RFK and my
second show was the infamous mudthrowing show from the DVD
(Lollapalooza in West by god Virginia).
Eventually saw them 10-12 times after that and always amazing.

i have a number of pavement memories, some bizarre or too long to recount...
one was in feb 1997? i don't remember playing in new york at loeb, i think,
and sm and ss got into an argument on stage and abruptly stopped mid-song...
ss wanted to sing kennel district i think... it was funny and weird--egos
were flying... i don't even want to think about lollapalooza... flash
forward several years to me standing in the rain for hours outside scala in
london trying to buy a ticket with no money but the retail ticket price
watching bob and sm film an interview for spanish television to be
starstruck when they said hello yes i was could only nod 'hi' only to be
miraculously plucked by a random ticket seller who took pity on me bought me
a drink and then had sm look down on stage ask me what rhymes with pavement
to which i replied, well, you know what rhymes with pavement...then to later
that summer at the cotton club in atlanta, full of passion and fervor and a
lot of teeny-bopper audiences...of course the relatively short uneventful
but great set at the 20th anniversary matador nice weekend shows...then
there's seeing mark ibold at every show i'd go to knowing he was about to
put a restraining order out on the weirdo who must have been following
him... yes my connections run deep and true... i got style miles and miles
